Experience Change in Days, Not Months.
An alternative to weekly sessions

Our Therapeutic Intensives offer a condensed path to deeper healing, compressing what would be months of traditional therapy into immersive, focused sessions that get to the core of your issues—by the end, you'll feel like you've broken out of the cave you've been trapped in for far too long.
The Difference
Traditional weekly therapy works for maintenance and character development.
But when you're dealing with deep trauma or need a real breakthrough, the weekly format holds you back:
-
You spend the first 10 minutes recapping
-
You get 30-40 minutes of deep work
-
Just when you hit something important, time's up
-
You wait 7 days, life happens, momentum is lost
-
Repeat for months
Therapy intensives are 6-18 hour sessions spread over 1-3 days, allowing continuity instead of disjointed progress.
Instead of fragmented weekly appointments, you get:
-
Sustained focus on ONE issue
-
No recapping or reorienting each week
-
Immediate continuation when breakthroughs happen
-
Your brain stays in 'processing mode' the entire time
-
Months of progress compressed into days

Who Is This For?
-
PTSD or complex trauma that needs more than 50 minutes to process
-
People who've "plateaued" in weekly therapy
-
Specific traumatic events (assault, accidents, loss, betrayal)
-
Major life transitions requiring deep work
-
Busy professionals who can't do weekly appointments
-
Anyone ready for accelerated healing

What is Intensive Therapy?
Drawing on evidence-based approaches like somatic processing (ART) and cognitive reframing (CPT/CBT), alongside timeless insights on habit-building and learning through adversity, these experiences (available in-office or virtually) help you transform pain into resilience and regain clarity in daily life.
This isn't just a couple days of longer sessions — it's intentional time invested in helping you set your life on a more healthy, hopeful path without months of sessions.
What Intensives at Plainsman Therapy Look Like:
01
Initial Consultaion
This initial meeting is a brief 10-15-minute call where we ensure the intensive is a good fit for you and your goals.
03
Intensive Therapy
We will spend 1-3 days, depending on what fits best for you, walking through the depths of your presenting problems, processing trauma or other distressing symptoms, and developing new solutions that will help you thrive.
05
30 & 60 Day Follow-ups
1-2 months following the major shifts we've made is where we'll likely start coming across various obstacles on this new path. We'll walk through any remaining sticking points and make necessary adjustments to the new solutions we developed to ensure you're thriving, not just surviving.
02
Intake Session
This initial session is the time when we discuss your history, assess symptom scores, and set goals for the intensive.
04
Week 1 Follow-up
The first week after an intensive is the most important — think of it like wet cement; we want to ensure everything is setting properly and that we're protecting this time well.
06
90 day Follow-up
This final follow-up is where we'll reflect on all the progress you've made and walk through effective ways to continue your path to peace and growth.
The Cost of an Intensive
Intensives are not regular therapy.
Intensives transcend the structure of typical therapy—they're longer, deeper, and offer a phenomenal opportunity for healing and growth. We know this, which is why we're offering them.
We also know that because they lie outside the normal boundaries of a 45-60-minute therapy session, these are not something insurance will cover, and will mean many people who could benefit won't be able to.
We'd love for intensives to be available to everyone, but we know that's simply not the case.
Still, we're not letting that fact stop us from offering something we know many will still be able to benefit from.
